Your health is your wealth
Your Health Is Your Wealth
When I sit with clients, we talk about more than just money. We talk about goals, values, lifestyle, and longevity. Too often I’ve seen avoidable health issues derail the best-laid financial plans – financial wealth doesn’t matter much if you’re too ill to enjoy it.
Your quality of life in later years is tied to your physical and mental well-being. Last week I talked about compounding wealth – it’s also true in for your health. What you can “get away” with in your early years will catch up with you and your lifestyle choices now will compound positively or negatively.
When you’re well-rested, energised, and mentally clear, you’re more capable of making sound financial and business decisions. That alone can add tremendous value over time.
Lynda and I spent a few weeks in Nepal in 2010. The health and fitness of the older generation struck me – their expectation is that as you get older you get more flexible!
And it’s not too late to make a change – this week I had Robert (68 yrs young) in the office. Since last September he’s lost 5 stone, 10 inches off his waist, back pain gone, able to come off his blood pressure medication and diabetic medication cut by 2/3. And he’s wearing clothes from 2017 again 😄
As you review your financial goals, I encourage you to also ask:
✅ Am I giving my health the attention it deserves?
✅ Do I have a plan for managing medical costs and long-term care?
✅ Have I built in time for rest, movement, and mental recharge in my weekly schedule?
Wealth is the freedom to live life on your terms. Health is what gives you the ability to enjoy it.
