How we helped a widow. Financial advice at bereavement.

Recently a client passed away leaving behind his wife. Annie* and her late husband had known me since I was a baby and their children are also clients of our firm. As with many families it is often the case that one spouse “deals with the money” and Tom* had handled all of the finances. When Tom died her children were very supportive and I worked with the family solicitor to ensure that his estate was wrapped up promptly and to remove financial stress during a time of grief. Annie met with me a few months after her husband’s death and was very concerned that she wouldn’t have enough money to meet her everyday needs and all her future expenses. I drew up a plan which showed her that she had no financial worries in any circumstances.
We met again last week and she said to me “When I worry or get stressed I’ve pulled out that sheet of paper you gave me and one glance puts my mind at rest”.
That’s what it’s all about: giving people peace of mind about their financial future.
Bereavement is hard enough without having to worry about money at the same time. We can remove that burden from you and give you confidence about the future.
